Last week, the Canadian government announced a number of new personalized health research projects across Canada. The research projects will focus on applying genomics to tailor patient treatments and therapies in various fields, including HIV/AIDS, cancer, rare neurological diseases and many others.

On the same day, the Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology released its report on post-approval monitoring of pharmaceuticals. The report includes 19 recommendations on how to improve and modernize post-approval monitoring in Canada.
